TRAVEL ASSISTANCE DETAILS

Athletics Yukon (AY) wants to help our membership travel to larger events. If you are traveling to an athletic event you may be eligible to claim a $400 reimbursement of your travel costs. Additionally if you are an athlete who is traveling from a rural Yukon community, outside of Whitehorse, you may be eligible for an additional amount.This funding is available though Lotteries Yukon's Travel Assistance Program. ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY

The athlete must be a member of
Athletics Yukon to qualify for the funding (the Athletics Yukon
membership year runs from January 1 – December 31st. To find out more on becoming a member click here )
This online application form must be submitted at least 25 days prior to the event start date.
The online 'post trip form' must be submitted within 10 days after the event is completed.

Please
note that there is a cap on the number of athletes we can support for
each event. We will process the applications in the order they are
received. First come, first served - so plan early!

If your application is approved, after your trip you will be required to fill out a post-event form to submit:

Proof of event completion.
A digital photo of yourself at the event

* If filling this form out on your mobile phone, you can simply snap a picture of your documents. If you are filling this form out on a computer you can upload your digital documents in PDF or in any common image formats (JPG, PNG, etc).

If you live in a rural Yukon community you are also eligible for:

round trip mileage from your community to Whitehorse to a maximum of $200 -or-
where ground travel from a community is not available, up to an additional $200.
